o   The many transcribers and individuals sharing info and memories.

·         1875-1877; Many children died shortly after birth, a few days, weeks, months or within a couple of years.

·         Children were baptised shortly after birth; generally, the same day or one day later.

·         Possible cause of death Typhoid fever

·         Records of Children that died help reveal the history of their families.

·         Children of important people and some illegitimate children seem to be baptized a couple or more days after birth.

·         Many illegitimate children did not live long.

·        Some mothers having one illegitimate child continued having more illegitimate children.

·         Names were recycled in the family; if a child died, their name may have been used again, even multiple times. The name may have also changed to match the gender.

·         Normally, parents in Chlopy only gave their children one name. Influential families in the area although bestowed multiple names to their children.

·         It seems, the mothers of individuals in the birth records at times were recorded with a different surname other than their maiden name. Could be their married name prior to the marriage at the time…

·         The listing of grandmothers of the birth registration are not matching other primary records:

o   May be same first name – different surname,

o   May be completely different person.

·         Assumptions:

o   Dates on birth registrations marked with a “+”, are death dates.

o   Most individuals registered in church books were born and baptized in Chlopy.

·         Many men who served in the military are noted in their marriage registrations.

·         There is much more info to gleam from the church record books, such as:

o   The midwife who delivered the newborn

o   The parish priest who performs the baptism, wedding, or burial

o    Military participation of the husband

o   Previous spouses

o   House numbers

o   Some times - Date of marriage on birth/baptismal records
