Welcome to Master's Obra

All serious researchers and family members are welcome. Please do your own due diligence and do not accept my work as the gospel truth. Please let me know of your interest and or connection to the family when you sign up. For individuals concerned about your name and email address collected please sign in as Guest and the password is the nickname of my late mother. At the moment, this is a small collection of info from over 33 years of research and compiling. Researching: Mazur, Marriott, Obra, Light, Little, and associated family names, Nova Scotia and New England family names and their connections. Polish, English, Scottish, Irish, Italian, European, New England and Canadian Heritage. I am amazed by how connected our North American families are. I reached very favourable results of finding maternal ancestors in all root branches to 1750-1775. Some family lines back one or several centuries beyond. There will always be a trickle of coincidental information to add, such as: missing dates, events, and locations. In my master data base for my research there is close to 950,000 names of individuals. Out of this number more than 896,000 are connected in some way within 15 generations. This is awesome. If you like my efforts to research, compile, and share this family info, please feel free to help by sharing family info and or help any way you can. Please leave a message, I would love to hear from you. Sincerely Dan

Chlopy, is now renamed - Peremozhne, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine I wish to say a big thank you to the following Individuals, organizations, and countries for making the Polish records being made available: Government of Poland and governmental branches, http://www.przemysl.ap.gov.pl/index.php?c=page&id=61 Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine - Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Kiev 24, Solomenskaya str. I will post my research and transcribing of these record books as a family tree. Spencer's Island

Spencer’s Island is found in Cumberland County Nova Scotia, on the western end of Greville Bay on the Bay of Fundy. The Island was named after Lord Spencer who was the British statesman at the time. The Mi’Kmaq also used the island seasonally and they called the island Wochuk meaning small kettle island. In 1778, a name in the family tree, the Spicers, became the first recorded family on the island. Spencer’s Island became a shipbuilding center owned by Joshua Dewis. The first vessel built was the Amazon and she was launched on May 18, 1861. Her maiden voyage was in June 1861 with Captain Robert Wilson McLellan as her first captain. He was my cousin 6 times removed. Shortly into the ship’s voyage, Captain McLellan fell ill with pneumonia and had to return to Spencer’s Island where he died on June 19, 1861. The Amazon continued having mishaps and was eventually sold. Her name was changed to the famous Mary Celeste. At Joshua Dewis’ shipbuilding business, large vessels were built like the full-rigged ship Glooscap in 1891. It was the largest ship built in Cumberland County and the last square rigger built along Parrsboro Shore. Today Spencer’s Island has a historic lighthouse dated 1904, a beach campground that is situated where the old shipbuilding center used to be and a café. Recently the Canadian Coast Guard has allowed the lighthouse to turn its light back on and it is open to the public. Respectively, Lynn (Light) Mazur

Witamy w Master's Obra

Moje pochodzenie z Ameryki Północnej i Wysp Brytyjskich dotarło do mnie w ślepą uliczkę.

Chlopy

“Chlopy tree” is uploaded and posted. Individuals in the tree will be from the Chlopy area of Poland (Now renamed- Peremozhne,Lviv Oblast, Ukraine), found recorded in two Greek Catholic Church (Ukraine Catholic) record books. Included will be known descendants. Please note the upload date was changed, I determined it is a lot of work and time to complete the task. More individuals and families will be added to the “Chlopy tree” as research is completed. There are two ways to access the “Chlopy Tree” and other trees uploaded to this site: #1 go to Info tab on menu bar and then the number of individuals for the corresponding tree – this will take you to a list of individuals in this tree. #2 Click on search in menu bar and type in an individuals’ name. A list should appear giving names, ID#, Birth Date, Location, and Tree/Branch

Some of Lunenburg's Founding Families

From Principaute de Montbeliard, Mariette, Lowe, Boutilier, Millard, Vienot, Robar, Bezanson, Dauphinee, and more. From various German states, Switzerland, and other areas: Keddy, Halter, Hirschman, Hiltz, Rafuse, Zinck and more.

Serdecznie witamy wszystkich polskich krewnych i gości

Dziękujemy za odwiedzenie i sprawdzenie strony. Nasze polskie drzewo genealogiczne znajdzie się pod drzewem „Chłopy”, a niektóre na drzewie „Mazur”. Jeśli szukasz osoby, przejdź do wyszukiwania i wprowadź nazwisko. Pamiętaj, aby używać łacińskiej wersji imienia. Spisałem księgi kościelne, w których przeważnie używano łaciny. Proszę o przesłanie mi wiadomości, aby poinformować mnie o swoim połączeniu. Byłbym szczęśliwy, mogąc usłyszeć od Ciebie.

Why Master's Obra

What is Master’s Obra and why use it for the website? AKA Master’s Work, masterpiece, magnum opus, chef-d’ceuver, As a Christian believer I see the work of God in these family trees. To me He is the Maestro de Obra (Master Builder). This website is a just an exceedingly small portion of His work. Even when there is brokenness and strife that enters the tree… He can prune, heal, and graft. Yes, I researched and developed the website, but I am no master. Chances are if you really look there are many typos and data entry errors. Please let me know when there are.
